  1. The imminent confusion of mind and the short term goal setting of the Cockroach is portrayed as an aspect of everyone's life, depicting the in-satiety after the achievement of one's goals, a phenomena leading to confusion given the variety of other goals to choose from. A sinner, having committed a "vicious crime", the Cockroach has a short term goal of reaching an "open shelf" which depicts the allegory used by the poet in context with his own life. The cockroach has been used by the poet as a base, describing the metaphorical significance of the cockroach in everyone's life and how a small part of us still behaves, unknowingly like one, "a victim of a mild attack".
